Security Stop-Press : Bank Hires 1,000 To Fix AI-Found Flaws
Bank of America hired 1,000 contractors to help repair software weaknesses uncovered by advanced AI, including Anthropic’s Mythos.
The contractors joined around 3,000 existing staff in the second quarter and were still helping in October.
AI can find vulnerabilities quickly, but people must still check, test and install fixes across the bank’s own and suppliers’ software.
The bank reported combined costs for software repairs and anti-money-laundering compliance, without revealing the patching bill separately.
The announcement does not mean the bank was hacked. Businesses should prioritise dangerous flaws, work with suppliers and check that updates have successfully fixed them.
